I read an article about John Glenn's 1962 glimpse of the Earth
from space and what he shared on his
return. As he viewed the earth from 150 miles
above, it forever changed his perception of
humanity. The individual differences of man seemed to fade
into sameness. The nations, races, genders, freckles,
and bruises disappeared. None of us were even a
speck on the landscape as he looked upon the earth.
"There are no nations, no boundaries separating one
enemy from another. In fact, that is one of the most
startling sights from a distance. There are no differences
among people at all. Our individuality, our differences,
evaporated "
As
children we are show a map with the boundaries of
each country color coded. This begins the view of separation
we will be taught throughout our lives. We learn the
world is divided into nations, cultures, races and genders. A
view from space does not look like this, all the earth is the same,
no differences and no divisions.
Listen to
how Glenn put it; " On a map, every nation has a different
color. Well, the Earth looks much different from
space. You realize our borers are so artificial.
Some are political, some have developed along ethnic line, but all
those lines disappear when you're looking down from space.
And you can't help but see all that we have in common, and think about
how much we foul things up by focusing on our differences rather an our
sameness."
Isn't
this the message of Christ 2,000 years ago?
He gave a great key to which humanity is just
awakening. We will only find the perfection we are
yearning for in Oneness. Oneness with God and each
other. As long as we major on our differences there will be
no changes for mankind. The moment we begin to
realize, as John Glenn did forty-five years ago, we are all ONE, there
will be a great shift in the unified
consciousness. Man will begin
to understand, there really are no differences or
divisions.
The Bible
says there is a light which lighteth every man that
comes into the world. Each of us came out of
the universal light of God. Every
man, woman, and child on this planet has within them the potential of
being a lighthouse to their brothers. As we awaken to the
light within ourselves, we can shine the way for
others to see their light. Not by judgment,
condemnation, rules and doctrines, but by unconditional love and
recognition of our oneness.
Many yeas
ago I heard a statement which impacted me and has been a theme in my
life ever since.
.
"When someone makes a circles and draws you out,
Make a bigger circles and draw them in!"
This
principle has taken me on a beautiful adventure, one in which
has brought great freedom into my life. I have connected with
the most beautiful people of every race, nationality, religion, and
persuasion. We have exchanged love and honor
which has changed my life and evaporated any differences we
might have had. Through this I have found my true
family. The family of God universal!
John
Glenn told NASA he need a greeting by which he could communicate, if he
landed in country by accident, where they spoke only a
primitive dialect. "That's when I discovered that, in so many
languages, "stranger" and "enemy" were the same word," he
said. "If we don't know somebody, they are immediately our
enemy." This is what inspired Glenn's teenage children to
name his spaceship "Friendship." "The world is going to be
watching, so the name should represent our country and the way we feel
about the rest of the world." He told them.
Even now
at age 86, Glenn feels he had the unique opportunity to see
the Earth as God sees it. "It was like going to church." He
said he never thought about how God saw things from a distance until he
flew on the mission. "I wish everybody
could make a trip into space like I did. If you could see how
much we share in this one world together, you would come back wanting
to work for the benefit of everyone."
The
Christ consciousness has awakened to know heaven is not out
there, but in us. We do not really have to leave the Earth to
see as God see. All we must do is release
old beliefs and let the Spirit take us higher into the consciousness of
God within. Christ said, "If I be lifted up I will draw all
men unto me." If the Christ consciousness is lifted up within
each of us, the consciousness of all humanity can do nothing but be
lifted up with it.
You and I
are the astronauts of this day. We are leaving the realm of
time, space, and matter and soaring high above the belief
systems of the physical world. As we soar in the spirit, we
begin to see clearly from the mind of God. All differences,
individuality, nations, races, and genders begin to
evaporate. No longer do we view others as separate from
ourselves. The higher we soar the more we
realize there has really only ever been One. That
one is God, and all has come forth from this consciousness.
As we
view this wonder, we must then come back and tell others what
we have seen just as Glenn did. We have
seen all nations as one, all mankind as a
universal family coming from a consciousness of love, joy, and
peace.
John
Glenn's perspective of the Earth from space, inspired others
to follow after him. As we soar higher into the consciousness
of God, we too will be an inspiration for others to begin
their journey inward. For others to press into the
spirit and begin to see the Oneness of humanity from
the higher perspective of the mind of God!
Everything is Perspective!
Pressing
Into Oneness,
