"Through faith we understand that the worlds
were framed by the word of God, so that the
things which are seen were not made of things
which do appear." Heb. 11:3
As children we all heard the
nursery rhyme which said little boys were made of snakes and snails and
puppy dog tails, while little girls were made of sugar and spice and
everything nice. It was a gentle way of brushing aside the deeper
questions of what we were really made of and where we came
from.
In those early days of youth we
were asking, "Who am I, where was I before I came here, and where do I
go after I die. Is there a plan and purpose behind all of
this?" Unfortunately, neither our parents nor religion could
provide adequate answers. So as time went on, many just stopped
asking and became enveloped by raising families, making a living,
and the outer world of appearances. There seemed little
time left to ask and search out these ageless questions.
As the 21st Century dawned these
questions again became paramount in the consciousness of mankind.
We have entered an age of great shifting and change in our world
pressing many into searching for truth, purpose, and what life is
really all about.
Religion has taught for
thousands of years that man has a Spirit, but hasn't really
acknowledged what that implies. Scripture says; "The Spirit is
willing, but the flesh is weak." This makes a distinction between
the two and reveals the source of real power as Spirit.
"God is Spirit and that which is born of the Spirit is
Spirit" is also taught through scripture. With all this
information we still don't bring Spirituality into our everyday
lives. The way to live daily in Spiritual reality seems evasive
to us.
Why is this? Because to be
Spirit means the most important aspect of our being is invisible and
non-matter. It infers our true self is connected to God, a Higher
Reality, Our Source, and the Cause of all that is!
Because we have become so
connected to the world of appearance, many are afraid of this aspect of
self. It seems to be beyond definite description and
limitations. It is so infinite, so vast, so limitless, and beyond
the norm that it doesn't fit into our "world" as we see it.
At this moment there are a people
awakening and acknowledging this invisible realm of non-matter as the
real basis of their lives. They are being drawn to tap into Spirit and
realize their true potential for life and purpose is here. The
scriptures in Romans which say we are to be lead by Spirit are becoming
alive. The verses, which tell us we have not received the Spirit
of bondage and fear, also tell us that we are an offshoot of God, the
Divine source of all power and possibilities. This has become our
truth!
The reality of our Being is
beginning to connect to the unseen realm of Spirit: Why has this been
so foreign in the past? Because we have been caught up in the
world of appearances, which contradicts the invisible world of
Spirit. From a human view we are surrounded by a solid, physical
world. In this solid realm Spirit seems to have no force, power
or existence. At best it has only limited influence. Many have
even felt Spirit has been separate from mankind.
Because of this view they have
dismissed a Spiritual life now. They have laid it aside for a
future time when they are either whisked away to an exhaled realm or
death takes them there. Spirituality is not a practical matter
while they are living in a material world and body.
The wonderful reality today is
many are learning to pierce the veil of physical appearances and go
beyond the established belief systems. They are leaving beliefs which
dictate matter is real and non-matter is not. They are piercing
the veil, by fully acknowledging that Spirit is the invisible and true
part of their Being! Spirit is the infinite, unchangeable,
limitless, eternal truth of who they are! Spirit is who they were
before they came to this realm and it is who they will be eternally.
The wonder of the day we have
entered is we now have the capacity to shift our sense of self to a
place of infinite, unbounded reality with limitless dimensions.
We are finding our higher sense of self is Spirit! We've come to
know the very core of our Being is Spirit, the invisible source of
all. As truth is unveiled, we've become aware of the real us, and
the most authentic thing about us is Spirit!
We may look solid because we're
packaged in skin and bones but it is only a costume disguising our true
self. The Bible has always said "know no man after the flesh" . .
. from physical appearance, but know all from Spirit!
Finally, we are beginning to
dismiss the physical realm and awakening to the infinite instead of
finite, the powerful instead of the weak! We're daring to believe
truth and stepping into higher dimensions because we realize we are
connecting to all God is. The reality that we are not just a
piece of matter taking up a few cubits of space and a small slice of
time is dawning on humanity. With this dawning we are looking
into what people like Albert Einstein have proven and what scientists
now believe about the physical realm of matter.
When we are able to dismiss the
fixed realm we see and touch as indisputable reality, it opens other
doors for us. Modern Physics has proven, solid matter is a
mirage. Have you ever been driving on a hot summer day and seen a
pool of water ahead on the road, only to find it disappears as you get
closer to it? This explains the mirage of solidarity. To
really understand Spirit let's look at one of the basic limitations we
have accepted, the solidarity of matter.
Our bodies are a good place for
us to begin our journey. The body is made up of atoms. Atoms are
made up of particles. These particles are whirling around at
lightening speeds within huge empty spaces in the atom. If we
could really look at our bodies we would find that they are 9.9999%
empty space and the .0001% that looks like matter is also empty
space. Jesus told his disciples thousands of years ago that they
had the same problem we have today. He said, "You know not what
manner of Spirit you are of."
This has been one of the greatest
stumbling blocks for mankind. In the book of John we see the only
true power comes from acknowledging our Spiritual Beingness. As
he says; ”It is the spirit (non-matter, invisible realm) that
quickeneth; the flesh (realm of matter) profiteth nothing...." In
Galatians it puts even greater light on the duality of flesh and
spirit; "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; so that
you cannot do the things that you would. But, if you be led of
the Spirit, you are not under the law." The law of the physical
realm of matter!
Matter is a limited perspective
of experience as we see by our bodies. As we sift through this solid
looking material body, we only have to go so far until we end up with a
handful of nothingness. Looking deeper into the Atoms we find they are
really made up of empty space because the particles whirling around
within them are not material objects either. Particles are
fluctuations of energy and information within a huge void of energy and
information. This is scientific fact! So the question is,
What is this nothingness? What is the empty space that makes up
everything in existence?
We begin to see this nothingness
is the basic raw material that makes up the whole universe. It is
the non-matter, the invisible realm of all creation. Is it just
nothingness or is it thinking, creating, invisible, non-matter
substance? In reality could the 9.9999% empty space of what
we are made of be Spirit? For me
the Bible held the answer!
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the
evidence of things not seen." Heb. 11:1
Isaiah 57:15 "For thus saith the
high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, . .”
Looking in Strong's Concordance for the Hebrew word "eternity" you will
find if you follow it back to its root it means; "as far, as long, or
as much, as whether of space." So, from this information we can
conclude God inhabits space. God is Spirit. Therefore this
non-matter, this invisible raw building block, of which everything in
the Universe is made up of, is God or Spirit!
The majority of who you are is
Spirit! The reality of our Universe is Spirit. Life is
Spirit.
In the truest sense, there is
nothing but Spirit! Don't let the world of appearances be your
reality. Be willing to take a somersault into the invisible realm
of Spirit.
